Tyler graduated his first term of swimming...

So it's official, Tyler is now a professional swimmer... well ok not quite professional! He managed to get ticks for everything but one of the criteria 'imitate the blowing of bubbles at the surface of the water.' Aside from the criteria, he hasn't managed to get his head completely under water yet, I guess the chlorinated water just tastes too good!!

Auntie Lissie, I hope this filled the void for you!

The start of winter and what's ahead...

So winter has finally set in over here in WA, we had a full week of rain last week and ice on the car windows yesterday morning! Tyler and I didn't like being stuck inside nearly all day every day, but it's better than having a sick baby.

Tyler is still a bit underweight, he's only put on 80g in the last 2 months which is not really enough. He is still happy and healthy and getting cheekier by the day. The Child Health Nurse said he should be eating the same portions as me when he is 12 months old... he probably eats 1/3-1/2 so we have to work on that. He just isn't patient enough to sit through eating when there is so much playing to be done! She suggested I fill a plate with all the food that I want him to eat throughout the day and to just keep feeding him, think I may just do that. I love going through photos...

and he is going to one in just over two months! What a massive year of learning it will have been for both of us!!

This coming Friday will mark one year since my Oma passed away... I still get teary when I see photos of her or think of her and the wonderful, special person that she is. Oma has always meant so much to me and been a very important part of my life. She lived with my family for a very long time and was therefore a very big part of it. I have no doubt that she is loving being with her Eternal Companion whom I hope to meet one day, and continuing to serve the Lord faithfully. Although, deep down in my selfishness I wish she was still here so that I could continue to share my life with her. I miss her soooo much, even though the only contact we had over the past 6 years was  through letters, phone calls and visits when I was on holidays, I still think of her every time I have news to share and miss so much being able to share with her. She will always be a part of me and her memory will always live in me. To try and alleviate my free flowing tears I'll share something a bit lighter that to this day makes me giggle a little... Oma always had Elisa wrap her Christmas presents because she does such an awesome job, one year she asked me to do it and I didn't do a good enough job so she had Elisa re-wrap them all :) I LOVE YOU OMA

Easter 2010 - the last time I got to see Oma

I wanted so much for Oma to meet my son, I was pregnant the last time I saw her and she passed away 2 months before Tyler was born. I hope Oma knows how loved she is...

I best move on before I use all the tissues in the house! We finally got the OK from Simon's boss for him to attend some training in Sydney next month, so Tyler and I will be heading over as well. We are going to have the best August/September, we have Tyler's Uncle Daniel coming mid August who we will fly back with, then Lola, Pa and Auntie Laurie coming for his 1st birthday, followed by Oma, Grandpa, Auntie Hannah and Auntie Millie coming over late September. Tyler will finally get to meet his Auntie Lissie, Uncle Michael and Uncle Luke whom he hasn't yet met (aside from Skype). Sounds pretty awesome doesn't it?!!

Will post again after our trip to Sydney :)

Labor Day + Kings Park = GREAT DAY!

Today was labor day in WA so we decided this morning it would be nice to go up to Kings Park... and it was. For those of you who haven't been to Kings Park, it is a beautiful big 'park' that overlooks the city and showcases all of our beautiful native plants.

This is Perth City from Kings Park

Tyler enjoying the flowers
It was so nice just getting out and appreciating this beautiful country that we live in (I may not say that tonight when it's 5 degrees!) and the safety that we enjoy. Tyler loves being outdoors too which is a bonus! Happy Tyler = happy mum (usually)!

Love this face!

Ok, so I was in the middle of talking... I do like talking lol!
Sightseeing was followed by a lovely lunch at the cafe - all in all it was a great day :)

Swimming lesson one.... complete!

Turns out Tyler loved the pool! Wasn't sure as we only have a shower so he hasn't experienced being in water like that since he was very young. I was also worried that he'd get sick of it - half an hour is a long time for him to be doing the same thing... but I think he could have lasted longer! They just sang nursery rhymes while doing activities, the instructor was great :)

We weren't allowed to take cameras in thanks to those disgusting people who do the wrong thing... but I managed to sneak a few on Simon's phone (sssshhhhh)! If you have trouble finding him - just look for the whitest baby there!!

See what I mean?!

They were doing 'Humpty Dumpty'

All done :)

Tyler has started pulling himself up on things over the past few days... now I have to move more stuff! It's so exciting when he discovers something new :) He is also getting his top teeth which seem worse than his bottom ones, can't wait for them to be through and I bet he can't either!

Tyler's professional photos...

These photos were taken about one month ago

there were more photos but these were the cream of the crop! They were taken by GOTCHA photography... won't be using them again!! The photos are gorgeous but they are unprofessional to deal with. They are expensive for one, second we had to send 5 photos back that had black spots on them, third they said the disc would have all the photos on it and there were only 13 (less than half) and fourth I sent them an e-mail 3 days ago and haven't even gotten a confirmation reply! Chrish I reckon you could do way better :)

Update... finally!

Okay so here it goes... tried to post last week but got annoyed as the photo I was trying to put up wouldn't go the right way!

Life doesn't consist of much more than my son and being a homemaker these days, don't get me wrong I love my role, but do miss the person I was sometimes. I'm sure most Mums understand :)

My little man is going on 8 months soon... oh how time flies! He has two teeth now and is not far from crawling :) It is soooo hard to change his nappy now  (lol) he just doesn't want to lay on his back for more than a second when he has better things to do! This is a photo I took today of his little teeth

he has had his first one for nearly 4 weeks now and his second for 3 weeks but they still have a way to go! They are soooo sharp - no more chewing on my fingers!

Aside from that we have made a decision to move to Sydney between June - August 2012. I really don't want to leave our home and the lives that we have built here but I do desperately want my children to know there Grandparents, Aunties and Uncles. Skype is great but doesn't quite cut it! Plus I miss family and the difference it makes having their support. I just wish they would all move over here :)

Simon is doing great in his job and still loving it which is such a great blessing.Tyler starts swimming lessons next Saturday which Simon will be doing with him. I am kind of nervous and excited... guess it seems like a big step to me lol.

We have beautiful weather over here at the moment and we are appreciating the outdoors a lot more because if it! So that is life for us at present...

Will try and blog about Tyler's first swimming experience :)

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog... I started one in 2008 that rarely got used and I forgot all the details so I had to start a new one! I hope it doesn't bore you too much!

Thought I might start by introducing my son, Tyler who is 4 months old

naturally, we think he is absolutely gorgeous! He is quite a happy young man who is discovering that people love it when he makes noises, smiles and laughs. So if he wants attention from other people that is what he does, at home if we don't give him our undivided attention he will usually cry! We love him... even when he decides to test our patience!!

This is my wonderful husband, Simon

who is a very patient and loving person. He LOVES his sport, NBA basketball and AFL football being his two favourite.

Then there is me!

This is my wonderful little family :)
